Chronos runs on 100% renewable energy

Last updated: 21 October 2026

Every schedule Chronos plans, every reminder it sends and every page it serves runs on renewable electricity, 24 hours a day, every day of the year.

Solar by day

Solar does most of the work. While the sun is up, it powers the servers directly and charges the battery for later.

Battery by night

Battery storage carries the servers through the evening and overnight. When it needs a top-up from the grid, that power comes from renewable supply too.

Renewable electricity, not offsets

Many services call themselves carbon neutral by running on ordinary grid power and buying offsets: paying for emissions to be reduced somewhere else. Chronos doesn't do that. The electricity it runs on is renewable in the first place, so there is nothing to offset.

It isn't an annual average either. The claim holds hour by hour, not just across a year.

Dedicated Australian infrastructure

Chronos runs on dedicated infrastructure operated by Byte Size Labs in Australia, not on shared public cloud capacity. Running it directly is what lets us choose exactly how it is powered. See Security for how that infrastructure keeps your data safe.
