Creating Your First Task

Let's create your first task! Follow these steps:

  1. Open the task creation form

Click the "New Task" button (usually in the top right corner) or press the "+" button in the calendar.

  2. Enter task details
    • Title: Give your task a clear, descriptive name (e.g., "Write project proposal")
    • Description: Add any additional notes or details (optional)
    • Duration: Estimate how long the task will take (e.g., 2 hours)
    • Priority: Choose from Low, Medium, High, or Urgent
    • Due Date: When does this task need to be completed?
  3. Choose task type

Select whether this is a Task (flexible scheduling) or an Event (fixed time).

  4. Let AI schedule it

If you chose "Task," the AI will automatically find the best time slot based on your availability and priorities. If you chose "Event," you'll need to set a specific time.

  5. Save your task

Click "Create Task" to save. Your task will appear in your calendar!

Success! You've created your first task. It will now appear in your calendar at the time slot chosen by the AI scheduler.

Understanding Tasks vs Events

Chronos Calendar has two types of calendar items:

Tasks (Flexible)

  • • AI automatically schedules them
  • • Can be rescheduled when your schedule changes
  • • Perfect for: work items, errands, study sessions
  • • Have priorities and due dates
  • • Respect your availability settings

Events (Fixed)

  • • Have a specific time that doesn't change
  • • Won't be automatically rescheduled
  • • Perfect for: meetings, appointments, deadlines
  • • Block time in your schedule
  • • Can sync from external calendars
