Workload

See how your scheduled hours stack up against your daily capacity and identify overloaded days before they become a problem.

What is the Workload View?

The Workload view shows a bar chart of scheduled hours for each day of the week, compared against your available capacity (set by your availability settings). At a glance, you can see which days are full, which have breathing room, and which are over capacity.

Identifying Overloaded Days

Days where scheduled hours exceed your capacity are highlighted in amber or red. These are your overloaded days — if you run into one, tasks may not fit and the AI may reschedule work to other days.

Click on any day bar to see a breakdown of which tasks are contributing to that day's scheduled hours. This helps you pinpoint which tasks to move, defer, or reduce in scope.

Rebalancing Your Work

When you spot an overloaded day, you have several options to rebalance:

  • Re-run the AI scheduler — click Schedule in the task list or calendar to let Chronos redistribute tasks across available capacity automatically.
  • Move tasks manually — drag tasks to a less busy day in the calendar view, or update a task's scheduled time directly.
  • Adjust due dates — if a task isn't truly urgent, push its due date out to give the scheduler more flexibility.
  • Reduce task duration — if the estimated duration is too high, update it on the task detail page.
Tip: Aim to keep most days at 70–80% of capacity rather than 100%. This buffer absorbs unexpected tasks and meetings that always come up, and gives you time to think — not just execute.
