When Chronos schedules or reschedules a task — either because the AI found a better slot or because a meeting shifted and freed up time — it immediately pushes the change to Outlook via the Microsoft Graph Events API, translating Chronos task fields into an Outlook calendar event. This means your Outlook calendar reflects AI rescheduling decisions within seconds, not on the next background sync cycle. If you delete a task in Chronos, the corresponding Outlook event is also removed, keeping your calendar free of stale commitments.

OAuth 2.0 via Microsoft Graph with encrypted token storage

Chronos connects to Outlook using the Microsoft Graph OAuth 2.0 flow, requesting the Calendars.ReadWrite and offline_access scopes so it can read and write your calendar events and refresh credentials automatically in the background. The OAuth flow supports both Microsoft 365 work and school accounts and personal Microsoft accounts through the common tenant endpoint. After authorisation, Chronos stores an encrypted access token and refresh token pair in the database; the refreshMicrosoftToken function handles automatic token renewal before expiry, so the integration stays active without any action from you.
