Does Chronos work with Outlook?
Two-way Outlook sync is coming soon. Microsoft sign-in and encrypted credential storage are built, and we’re finishing the sync that will read your Outlook events and write Chronos tasks back. Until it ships, publish your Outlook calendar as an ICS link and subscribe to it in Chronos, so tasks are scheduled around your Outlook meetings.
What Chronos does with your Outlook
Microsoft sign-in is built
Chronos’s Outlook connection signs in through Microsoft’s common endpoint, so it works with Microsoft 365 work and school accounts as well as personal Microsoft accounts. It asks for the Calendars.ReadWrite permission, which lets an app create, read, update and delete events in your calendars, plus offline access so the sync can run without you being signed in. That consent screen is the same one the finished two-way sync will use.
Encrypted credential storage
When you connect Outlook, Chronos encrypts the access token and refresh token before saving them, using AES-256-GCM with a key held only by the Chronos server. Your Microsoft password never passes through Chronos at all — sign-in happens on Microsoft’s own page — and the stored tokens are decrypted only at the moment Chronos calls Microsoft Graph.
Use Outlook with Chronos today
Two-way sync — Outlook meetings flowing into Chronos and Chronos tasks appearing in Outlook automatically — is the part still being finished. In the meantime you can publish your Outlook calendar as an ICS link from Outlook on the web and subscribe to it under Settings in Chronos. Chronos refreshes subscribed calendars every 15 minutes, treats your Outlook meetings as busy time, and schedules your tasks into the gaps.

Consultant on Microsoft 365, scheduling around client meetings now
A management consultant runs on Microsoft 365 and wants Chronos to plan deliverables and prep work around client calls. While two-way sync is being finished, they publish their Outlook calendar from Outlook on the web and paste the ICS link into Chronos. Their client calls and reviews arrive as busy time, and Chronos fits research and prep into the free gaps each day, updating the plan as the subscription refreshes. When two-way sync ships, they can connect Outlook directly instead.
