CarPlay

See what's on now and what's next on your car's screen, straight from your iPhone.

How Chronos shows up in CarPlay

  • The Chronos Now card appears on the CarPlay Dashboard when something is about to start or is happening now.
  • The Next up widget sits with your other CarPlay widgets and shows your next two tasks or events.
  • Both are built for a quick glance: big type, one or two items, nothing to tap while you drive.
Before you start: you need an iPhone on iOS 26 or later with the Chronos app installed and signed in. Both work on every plan.

Chronos Now on the Dashboard

Chronos Now is the same card you see on your Lock Screen. In CarPlay it shows the title and when it starts, then counts down in the last 10 minutes, says “In progress” while it's on and “Finished” when it ends. It appears for something starting within the hour, and before a reminder even when the app is closed.

To turn it off, open the Chronos app and go to Settings › Notifications › Live Activities. That turns it off on your Lock Screen too.

The Next up widget

Next up shows what's on now (or next) and the item after it, looking ahead to the end of tomorrow. It moves on by itself as each item starts and finishes, and it picks up changes you make elsewhere the next time you open Chronos on your iPhone.

  1. On your iPhone, open Settings › General › CarPlay and choose your car.
  2. Add Next up from Chronos to its widgets.
  3. You can add the same small widget to your iPhone Home Screen too.

Signing out of Chronos clears the widget and the Dashboard card, so nothing from your schedule is left on show.
