Task Templates

Creating a task template

  1. Open or create a task

Configure it with the title, description, duration, priority, and subtasks you want to reuse.

  2. Save it as a template

Click the menu icon (⋯) on the task and select Save as Template.

  3. Give it a name

Use something descriptive like “Client Onboarding Call” or “Weekly Report”.

Using a task template

  1. Click New Task to open the task creation form
  2. Select Use Template from the top of the form
  3. Choose it from the list
  4. The form pre-fills with the saved details — adjust dates, assignees, and specifics as needed
  5. Save the task

Project Templates

Creating a project template

Project templates capture an entire project structure — its tasks, milestones, and settings — so you can recreate the same workflow for a new client or campaign without starting from scratch.

  1. Open an existing project that is set up the way you want
  2. Click the project menu (⋯) and select Save as Template
  3. Name it and confirm

Creating a project from a template

  1. Go to Projects and click New Project
  2. Select From Template instead of starting blank
  3. Choose it from the list
  4. Enter the new project name and start date — Chronos adjusts relative task due dates automatically
  5. Save to create the project with all tasks pre-loaded

Managing Templates

View and manage everything you've saved in Settings › Templates. From there you can:

  • Edit — update its content without affecting tasks or projects already created from it.
  • Duplicate — create a variation of an existing one without rebuilding it from scratch.
  • Delete — remove one you no longer need. Existing tasks and projects are not affected.
Tip:Build templates from your best real-world examples, not from scratch. Complete an actual task or project exactly how you want it, then save it as a template — you'll capture the subtasks, durations, and priorities that actually worked rather than guessing.
