Gantt & Timelines

Visualise project timelines, track dependencies, and manage task schedules across a Gantt chart view.

What is the Gantt View?

The Gantt view displays your tasks and projects as horizontal bars on a timeline, making it easy to see how work overlaps, identify bottlenecks, and track progress against deadlines.

Best suited for:

Multi-week projects with sequential tasks
Teams planning sprints or delivery milestones
Visualising task dependencies and critical paths
Spotting scheduling conflicts before they happen

Accessing the Gantt View

Open a project
Navigate to a project from your sidebar or the Projects page.
Switch to Gantt view
Click the view switcher at the top of the project page and select Gantt or Timeline.
Set a date range
Use the date range picker to zoom in to a sprint or zoom out to a full quarter view.

Moving and Resizing Tasks

Move:Drag the task bar left or right to shift its start and end dates whilst keeping the same duration.
Resize:Drag the right edge of a task bar to extend or shorten its due date. Drag the left edge to adjust its start date.
Snap to grid:Bars snap to day boundaries by default. Hold Shift while dragging for free positioning.

Visualising Dependencies

Tasks linked with dependencies appear connected by arrows on the Gantt chart. Blocked tasks are shaded until their predecessors are complete.

Dependency indicators

Grey arrow: Task is waiting on a predecessor
Red arrow: Dependency conflict — predecessor ends after this task starts
Green arrow: Dependency satisfied — predecessor is already complete

Tip: To add dependencies, open a task and use the Dependencies field. They appear automatically on the Gantt chart.

Note: Tasks without a due date do not appear on the Gantt chart. Set a due date (and optionally a start date) on any task you want to visualise.
